The Yinka Dene Alliance, a group of five First Nations in British Columbia whose holdings cover 25 percent of the route Enbridge's proposed $5.5-billion Northern Gateway pipeline, decline Enbridge's offer for a 10 percent stake in the pipeline in exchange for passage through First Nations' territories.

The McClatchy Co., which owns newspapers across the nation including the Idaho Statesman, recently canvassed small businesses in the United States, and found that they are adding employees despite more and more government regulations, and that at least one Idaho business said the federal government's "Hire One" program came with too many requirements to make it feasible.
