Al Qaeda reportedly targeting Montana forests

A new issue of al Qaeda's English-language magazine includes an article that suggests wildfires as a form of terrorism, and specifically mentions Montana as a good target. The magazine, called Inspire, was thought to be shuttered after the 2011 deaths of its two editors, Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, until two new issues emerged on jihadi forums.

From ABC News:

But issue nine carries equally lethal advice, with "It Is of Your Freedom to Ignite a Firebomb," which gives detailed instructions on how to ignite an "ember bomb" in a U.S. forest, recommending Montana because of the rapid population growth in wooded areas.

"In America, there are more houses built in the [countryside] than in the cities," says the writer, who uses the pseudonym The AQ Chef. "It is difficult to choose a better place [than] in the valleys of Montana."

ABC News' chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross added on "Good Morning America" that experts say the information given in the magazine is "precise and troubling."

Lets not forget that during WWII the US air force burned Japanese cities to the ground.

This "threat"of arson from the other side of the world is nothing but fear mongering. Personally, I am less worried about AQ comiting arson than i am about our own citizens who think they will finally get a job if they start a fire. That scenario has happened, but the AQ threat has not.

Well, maybe now those who blame wildfires on 'eco-terrorists' will blame real Al Qaeda terrorists instead.

Back in WWII Japan used incendiary balloons attempting to burn down forests in the western US and Canada.…
