Cold Smoke scores bronze at World Beer Cup

While the rest of us were sipping craft brews at Saturday's 20th anniversary Garden City BrewFest, representatives from Missoula's own Kettlehouse were collecting honors at a slightly bigger event. The World Beer Cup, held in San Diego, California, Boulder, Colorado, featured 799 breweries from 54 countries and 45 U.S. states entering 3,921 beers in 95 beer style categories.

Among all that competition, including 51 specific entries in its category, Kettlehouse's Cold Smoke earned the bronze medal for Scotch Ale.

Other Montana breweries to place at the event: Montana Brewing Co.'s Whitetail Wheat took gold in the American-Style Wheat Beer with Yeast category, while Lewis & Clark Brewing's Miners Gold won silver. Montana Brewing also won silver in the Ordinary or Special Bitter category for its Happy Hour Hero Ale.

Way to represent.
