Work to clean up gasoline leak on Montana reservation underway
Crow tribal officials said the leak from Phillips 66's Seminoe Pipeline had spilled 4,200 gallons of gasoline on the tribe's reservation in Montana.

The Bureau of Land Management and the Western Area Power Administration's preferred route for the TransWest Express LLC, a 3,000-megawatt electrical transmission line that will stretch for 725 miles from Sinclair, Wyo., through Colorado and Utah, terminating near Boulder, Nev., differs from that proposed by TransWest, a subsidiary of Anschutz Corp.

Judge rules helicopter can be used to repair dam in Montana wilderness
U.S. District Court Judge Donald Molloy dismissed a lawsuit filed by Wilderness Watch and Friends of the Clearwater to block the use of a helicopter to ferry in supplies and equipment to repair the Fred Burr High Lake Dam, a private dam within the 1.3 million-acre Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness in Montana.

Idaho PUC rejects Idaho Power's changes for renewable-energy producers
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission rejected Idaho Power's proposal to end net-metering for homeowners and businesses that have solar panels or wind turbines on their buildings, and rejected the utility's request to raise rates for such small-power producers to hook up to the grid.

Another company plans oil transfer station in Wyoming's Converse County
The oil transfer station proposed in Douglas by California-based Gazelle Transportation Inc. would move oil from trucks into the Sinclair pipeline, which sets this project apart from the other two planned in Wyoming's Converse County, which will load oil from trucks into rail cars.

Price for Alberta bitumen in June nearly twice that in January
Alberta bitumen was trading for $85 a barrel last week, nearly double the $45-a-barrel price in January, and with oil prices figured in U.S. dollars, the drop in the loonie's value made the price gain even sweeter for Alberta producers.

Colorado company with Wyoming uranium leases signs long-term deal
Ur-Energy, Inc., the Colorado company that is developing a uranium mine in Wyoming's Sweetwater County, has signed a deal to provide 200,000-300,000 pounds of uranium to an unnamed "nuclear operating company," based in the United States.
