Chief Plenty Coups was a Crow leader who in 1884 settled on this 320-acre farm, built a home, opened a general store, and farmed until his death, at age 84, in 1932. The current 195-acre park is parceled from Plenty Coups holdings.

There's no overnight camping at Chief Plenty Coup, but restrooms, picnic areas, a gift shop, the property's spring, and access to the Pryor River court visitors. The park is on the Crow reservation south of Billings.
