Gov. Brian Schweitzer punctuated national headlines once again this weekend after an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union with Candy Crowley" (see video below). Yet another non-committal answer regarding his presidential aspirations in 2016 has led to yet another round of speculation that he does, indeed, have such aspirations. We have various bets going in our own newsroom as to what's next for Schweitzer, so we'll hold off on making any grand predictions.
The portion of Schweitzer's comment that appears to have sparked the national buzz came when he mentioned his "warm regard for the people of Iowa and New Hampshire," two key states in the presidential primaries. Of course, pundits aren't necessarily known for their senses of humor, and it could have been just another dry joke on the national stage from our folksy showman of a governor.
