In addition to having one of the handsomest profiles in town, the California Street Bridge connects Missoula's rich future to its staying- in-a-transient-motel-while-you-ease-your-way-off-OxyContin present. On one end you have Silver Park, tucked behind the Osprey stadium and overlooked by newly built luxury condos. On the other end you have West Broadway, replete with adult store, youth home, pawn shop and casino. Between them lies change, the rushing river, dappled by alighting geese and urinating winos alike. It's enough to make you downright wistful.
